This page describes cookies and similar storage for Homnest. It is a policy page, not a consent banner.
Native iOS and Android apps
The Homnest apps on iPhone, iPad and Android do not use a cookie wall or cookie banner. Apple App Store review has rejected apps that present a website-style cookie dialog in a web view or that track after the user chooses “Ask App Not to Track”.
Those apps are native shells (Capacitor) around our client. They store:
- a session token (JWT) and related auth state;
- a device id for push-token registration and session scope;
- application data in localStorage and IndexedDB (including a client-side wrapped copy of cryptographic keys, message cache, offline outbox).
That storage is needed to run the app you installed. It is not an HTTP cookie set for advertising or analytics. Push uses the OS permission dialog (APNs / FCM), not a cookie prompt.
If you clear app storage or uninstall, local data on that device is gone. E2E content remains only where a Home key still exists.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party marketing pixels on this site.
We do not run a cookie banner on the marketing site because we do not set non-essential cookies. Changing language via the language switcher sets homnest_locale. You can delete it in your browser; the site still works, it may just forget the last language.
Web app (app.homnest.eu)
The PWA uses the same class of essential client storage as the native apps (JWT, localStorage, IndexedDB, device id). It may set an essential session cookie if the browser stack requires it for the origin. It does not set analytics or advertising cookies.
Log in is on app.homnest.eu, not on the marketing homepage.
Server logs
Web servers keep ordinary access logs (IP address, user agent, path, time) for security and abuse prevention, for a short period. That is not a cookie.
Third parties
Apple and Google may set their own cookies if you visit their Store pages. That is outside this site. Map tiles are served from our EU infrastructure, not from a public tile CDN.
Your choices
Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Blocking homnest_locale only forgets language preference.
