Acceptable use policy

This policy is part of the terms. It applies to every Homnest account, Home and managed profile.

Allowed

Use Homnest to run a household: plans, tasks, money, shopping, messages, calls, optional location, and SOS for a real emergency involving people in that Home.

Not allowed

You must not:

1. Break the law of the EU or of a Member State that applies to you (including criminal law, IP, privacy, and child-protection law).
2. Upload, share or store content that is illegal to host (see illegal content).
3. Harass, threaten, or dox another person, in a Home or by using Homnest to reach them.
4. Trigger SOS without a genuine emergency. False SOS wastes the attention of the household and may lead to immediate suspension.
5. Attempt to break encryption, steal a Home key, impersonate another member, or probe the API/WSS beyond ordinary use.
6. Overload, scrape at industrial scale, or interfere with servers, Redis, TURN, SMTP, or other users.
7. Use Homnest to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
8. Bypass a role or permission (for example a Child account using an Administrator session).
9. Record a call without the unanimous in-product consent Homnest requires.
10. Share another member’s location if they have not opted in, except the documented 30-minute SOS override.
11. Resell Homnest, scrape it as a competing service, or misrepresent yourself as LohiSoft.
12. Use a Home as a general public social network or as anonymous mass hosting.

End-to-end rooms are not a licence to commit offences. We cannot read sealed content; we can still close accounts on metadata, reports, and lawful orders.

Children

Managed Child and Teen profiles exist so a parent can include a child from age 6 inside a Home. Do not create an independent email account for a child below the applicable Article 8 age. Do not use Homnest to contact children outside that household framework in a way that is unlawful.

Enforcement

We may warn, limit features (especially SOS and calls), suspend, or delete an account or Home. We may keep logs needed to explain the decision and to meet the DSA. Repeat false SOS is enough for suspension.

Abuse between household members: handle it in the Home where you can, then email support@homnest.eu.
Alleged illegal content: illegal content, hello@lohisoft.com.
